Frau Tonis Parfum
Stefanie Hanssen, founder of Frau Tonis Parfum Berlin: "I entered the perfume business very spontaneously when I realized that my ideal of a perfumery didn't exist. Fragrance, perfume, history... Wasn't there a glorious past, especially here in Berlin? Indeed, at the beginning of the last century, Berlin was the city of fragrances. I was obsessed with the idea of breathing new life into this industry. To bring it back from the darkness into the light, Fragrance to reinterpret them, to stage them in a completely new way.
I founded my own perfume factory. Puristically designed according to my needs, preferences, and philosophy, it was dedicated to my grandmother Toni-Luise, who, in the harsh reality of the Ruhr coal-mining region, had been a loving friend, style icon, and perfume aficionado to me since childhood. And so I realized my vision: to establish fragrances beyond the mainstream that would captivate connoisseurs and niche consumers with their extraordinary aromas, textures, and ingredients.
Bottom line: I have opened a puristic and elegant perfume factory, my Frau Tonis Fragrances are reminders of our humanity, in all its contradictions and complexity. For us, the only thing that matters is how a perfume is worn. Preferably with confidence! Today, in collaboration with international perfumers, we design and produce our Berlin zeitgeist and signature fragrances such as Thé Arabique Parfum, No 18 Bogota Berlin, No 17 Laundrette or the iconic No 10 Linde Berlin. We see our niche perfumes as the continuation of a long tradition."
