The sensitive skin of the lips has no sweat glands and very few sebum glands. This means that there is practically no body's own supply of fat or moisture for the lips. In addition, the skin of our lips is very thin and sensitive. The skin of the lips consists of only three to five cell layers, compared to the up to 16 cell layers of the rest of the facial skin.
The self-protection of the lips is therefore limited by nature and targeted care for the lips is highly recommended, especially in the case of special stresses.
