All Seifenmacher Soaps are alkaline. The pH value of 8.5 corresponds to that of the amniotic fluid in which we are prepared for life in the womb.

These high-quality natural soaps are not comparable to conventional soaps and shower gels. This is primarily due to the artisanal manufacturing process and the cold process saponification. Soap is formed from the reaction of lye (soda and potash lye) and oil. Seifenmacher uses coconut oil and sunflower oil as well as shea butter and cocoa butter. These raw materials are all food quality and come from organic farming.

The Seifenmacher Beat Urech - at home in Arosa, at home in the world - understands something about the miraculous process of soap production, because as a trained druggist he was familiar with glycerin, lye and essential oils from a very early age. The result is genuine Arosa natural soaps – for the face, body, hands, hair and soul.

At the beginning there is the caustic soda. Solid fats (coke oil, cocoa butter and shea butter) are melted in the soap kettle and liquid base oils such as sunflower oil are weighed. The more valuable essential oils and other natural ingredients (herbs, wood, spices) are carefully prepared for further processing.

The base oils and fats, which are now liquid, are mixed until the much-cited soapy marriage takes place at exactly 40 degrees Celsius with the addition of the lye - congratulations! By lovingly stirring clockwise, the mass slowly thickens or “saponifies”. The flavoring ingredients (essential oils, herbs, etc.) are slowly added - oh how it smells!

The warm soap mixture is then filled into large soap moulds, cooled with the help of the Arosa mountain climate and prepared for three-day storage. The soap block is hand cut into commercial grade pieces using metal guitar strings.

This can be done with a self-made punching machine Seifenmacherlogo stamped into the soaps. Like good wine, the unpackaged soaps are stored in spruce wood boxes for 30 days until they are ready for their onward journey in the beautiful and 100% recyclable packaging.

• Lather the soap slightly with water, lather the face and / or body with it and rinse with warm water.
