What are oxygen microbubbles?

These are ultrafine oxygen bubbles (1.000 times smaller than a hair – ~0,2 μm) – so small that they are invisible to the naked eye or even a light microscope. They penetrate deep into the pores, supplying skin cells with pure oxygen and exerting their purifying effect, effectively fighting bacteria and deeply cleansing. At the same time, they increase cellular metabolism and reduce irritation.

Can Oxygen Water be combined with other products?

Can I use Oxygen Water every day?

We recommend applying the product twice daily (morning and evening) to cleansed skin for the best results.

Can side effects or skin irritations occur?

Since our Oxygen Water consists only of oxygen and highly filtered water, it is particularly well tolerated and there is no potential for irritation or other side effects from the product itself. What do the 7 days on the bottle mean?

The bottle marks 7 daily doses for your daily use. Divide the daily dose between morning and evening. Spray 25 sprays evenly onto your face in the morning and evening using the included spray head. Then, rub it in gently in circular motions to loosen the pores and allow oxygen to penetrate better.

Do I have to wash the product off?

How long does Oxygen Water last?

If unopened, the product has a shelf life of at least 3 months. After opening, we recommend consuming the Oxygen Water completely within one weekto ensure the maximum effect of the active oxygen microbubbles.

The oxygen microbubbles contained are very fine and sensitive to air and light. For optimal effect, the product should be used within 7 days of opening.

Can I use the product during pregnancy?

Yes, it contains only four very mild, dermatologically safe ingredients and is also safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What are the advantages over products containing fruit acids or salicylic acid?

Unlike products containing AHA, BHA, or other acids, Oxygen Water by Merme cleanses pores without irritation or exfoliation. The innovative oxygen microbubble technology works deep within the pores without damaging the skin barrier—ideal for sensitive skin types that often don't tolerate traditional acid treatments.

What is the HOCl content in the formula?

We use a very small amount of HOCl solely as a stabilizer—not as an active ingredient. It's approximately one hundred times less than in pure HOCl products for skin treatment. It's used to support formula integrity, not directly for skin health. Therefore, we don't specify an exact percentage.

Light protection: HOCl is sensitive to UV and visible light and can degrade as a result. Therefore, we always store the bottles in a box before use. At home, simply store it in a cupboard or drawer, away from direct sunlight—and yes, it's stable for up to 7 days after opening.

How much oxygen is contained in the formula?

We focus on the bubbles—not the oxygen itself—because they are the actual oxygen carriers. Our formula is full of them. It's not about a fixed oxygen content, but rather how effectively it is generated, stabilized, and released. That makes the difference. On average, there are more than 40.000.000 microbubbles per ml.

The oxygen content barely changes over time as long as the bottle remains sealed. The only thing that changes over time is the size of the microbubbles, as bubbles coalesce over time. This effect is minimal but still measurable, which is why we play it safe and use a fixed best-before date.

Does it still work after a week of opening?

After seven days, the effectiveness begins to diminish. The blisters will become slightly larger, which may reduce penetration. For optimal results, we recommend using the product fresh.

Why does my skin look worse after the first week?

Skin cleansing (detoxification reaction) - Oxygen cleanses the pores. In cases of clogged pores or skin congestion, the microbubbles and HOCl can bring underlying impurities to the surface. This may manifest itself in the first 3–5 days as increased rashes, small blackheads, or a blemish. This is often mistaken for an adverse reaction, but is usually temporary.

The barrier is already impaired - In cases of over-exfoliation, sunburn, or skin sensitized by retinol, acids, or a damaged barrier, even a gentle mist can sting or trigger inflammation. HOCl, while gentle, is still slightly acidic—and the bubbles can enhance the penetration of active ingredients.

Application

• For best results, apply the product to cleansed skin twice a day – morning and evening.
• The bottle marks 7 daily doses for daily use. If using a spray bottle, apply 20-25 pumps each morning and evening.
• Gently massaging the applied water into the skin can further enhance the effect.
• Wait until the Oxygen Water has dried – this allows the crucial step to take place, where the bubbles can enter the pores and be absorbed by the skin (at least 1-2 minutes).
• Allow skin to dry completely before applying any other products, especially if you're using products containing antioxidants like retinol, vitamin C, or astaxanthin.
• For maximum effectiveness, use within one week of opening. The product is still safe after opening, but the oxygen bubbles will become larger and less effective.
• Heads-up: The product is FRESHLY PRODUCED: Shelf life 3 months from production (unopened), 1 week after opening.

This removes even microscopic particles such as bacteria, pollutants, mineral residues, and organic contaminants. Unlike distilled water, not all minerals are filtered out, which makes it particularly gentle on the skin – ideal for sensitive, irritated skin and provides a high-quality base to improve the effectiveness and stability of skincare formulations.
• Oxygen - The innovative oxygen microbubbles penetrate deep into the pores, release pure oxygen and inhibit the growth of bacteria. This combats the lack of oxygen that is responsible for the proliferation of inflammation-causing, anaerobic bacteria – one of the main causes of hormonal or stress-related skin blemishes.
• Sodium Chloride - Known as table salt or sodium chloride, it is a simple yet multifunctional ingredient in skincare. In this case, it supports the stability of the oxygen microbubbles. Salt ions help keep the microbubbles, which are held stable primarily by a fine electrical charge, in solution.
